Hello Washington - Photo of the Washington Monument
We had to spring forward on Sunday, but it was still enough time to get out and take a stroll on the National Mall this past Sunday. Here is a photo that I snapped of the Washington Monument:
The weather was truly picture perfect! The cherry blossoms are not quite ready, but in just a few more weeks they will be in full bloom. I feel so fortunate to live so close to so much history. I have been living in the DC metro area since 1995 and still haven't seen all there is to see!
In this photo you can see the repair work being done to the monument as a result of the earthquake in August 2011. It seems like it was so long ago, but the Washington Monument has been closed since then.
