Penn State Extension will be hosting a seminar on "Tools for Equine Health and Soundness" on Thursday, April 25th, 2013 at the Best Western Conference Center in Behtlehem, PA.

 

The featured speaker will be Dr. Margaret Mullin, VMD of B.W. Furlong and Associates Veterinary Services.  This practice has overseen 3 U.S. Olympic Eventing Teams.

 

Dr. Mullin will discuss various therapies for diagnosing and treating lameness, such as shckwave therapy, IRAP, stem cell therapy and mesotherapy.

 

Dr. Robert Vansaun, from the Penn State Science department, will discuss which supplements are helpful and which are harmful.

 

Dr. Carey Williams of Rutgers Co-operative Extension will present a program on how to tailor a feeding program.

 

Donna Foulk of Penn State, will teach how to select hay for horses.

 

The cost for the seminar is $45 per person for the day if registered by April 17th.  The fee includes workshops, lunch and printed materials.
