The Ricketts Family has proposed a Wrigley Field make over.  However this proposal is way more than just a makeover for the stadium, it’s an entire complex.  Once you’re in there is no getting out, it will literally be a Cubs-A-Palooza.

Renovations to the stadium are just one part of this entire plan.  The plan that our recent new owners have brought to the City of Chicago includes a Starwood Hotel that will house 175 rooms, offices and retail space.

Wait there’s more!  A plaza with a health club and a Captain Morgan club are 2 more structures proposed with a bridge over Clark Street that will allow folks to walk from the plaza and the hotel.  Hopefully it will free up much of the foot traffic prior to a game.

Over the last few weeks, preliminary negotiations have been ongoing; however the organization must submit their request officially for hearings with the city very soon.   So finalizations are long ways away.

Getting back to the friendly confines, get ready Cub fans for your very first Jumbo-Tron!  As some purists will definitely protest the 6,000 square foot video scoreboard, there is a benefit; more night games.

The Ricketts family says the $500 million Cubs Complex will be run entirely by the Cubs organization and will not require any public funds.

And if that isn’t enough, the entire Ricketts family threw in a promise.  Wait for it; "If this plan is approved, we will win the World Series for our fans and our city."

I knew he was going to say that!

Could a jumbo-tron be all they’ve been missing all these years?  Well if the project is approved, then perhaps you will have to pay more to live by America’s favorite past time.
