I think it is safe to say we all POST to our blogs but how many of use actually USE our blogs?
There is a difference.
What I mean by that is so many of us will post a blog entry and forget about it. After a day or so on AR(or any other blog you post to), you are basically leaving it up to luck to find viewers and be informative to someone. We spend so much time putting our thoughts, hints, tips and opinions to words, why not maximize that return by actually using the blog?
A blogs lifespan can be infinite, it is just up to you to make it that way.
OK Buzz Lightyear but how do I do that, you may ask? Well how you do that is by using your blog in your day to day business. For instance, today I got an email from a buyer and she said what she was really looking for was a foreclosure property (who isn't it seems). So the first thing I asked her was why she wanted to specifically find a foreclosure home and what her level of knowledge was about foreclosures. In addition to helping her find some foreclosure homes to look at, I also directed her to a blog entry I wrote a while back about foreclosures. You wrote the blog, its informative to your lead or client, why not bring it to their attention?
A blog is not just a random piece of space junk sent out into cyber-space to be forgotten forever.
A blog should be used as a tool in your day to day business. Have out of towner's thinking about moving into town? Direct them to your blog post about the area (you do have a post about the area, right?). Have a buyer with questions about interest rates or a subdivision, direct them to your blog post about the appropriate topic.
What you don't want to do is use your blog post as a substitute for communication
If you use your blog as a resource of information for your clients, it will really help in getting a lead to feel like you are knowledgeable on the subject matter and will help in building dialogue and a relationship with that lead. Good Luck
