Here's what NOT to do the day before your first half marathon.  Take a pretty tough spin class in the morning, entertain family in the evening and have a huge plate of meatloaf!  I'm questioning my sanity even admitting in public that I ate meatloaf but there it is.  And needless to say, it was still with me as I ran.  YUCK (and painful)!

However, even with that and a starting temperature of 28 degrees, which might as well be the artic for a Texan, it was a fantastic race and left me feeling alive and accomplished.  The time, which admidately needs work, put me in the top quarter of finishers.  For sure, one step closer to Ironman.  Next up is the AT&T Half Marathon in February and then March is the beginning of triathlon season.  Guess I better get my butt in the pool!  ;)

Looks like a decent time to me, you managed to stay ahead of my 5k pace.  My longest race has been 5 miles which I ran roughly the same at nine minute miles.  Not sure what kind of drop off to expect in longer runs, was thinking a target of 2:30 for my first half marathon would be fair and 2:15 good.
