I love it when clients have beautiful treasures hidden beneath clutter. I recently staged a home that had a wonderful selection of pottery barn treasures, right down to the Benjamin Moore, Pottery Barn Collection paint. You know, the new green. The room was rather bright for the most part and as professional home stager my job was to neutralize the color palette and soften the appearance so that buyers would fall in love.
The space was large enough to accomodate a king size bed, two nightstands, a dresser and an armoire. My mind was screaming...Stage It Now! My clients could only see clutter, but beneath the pile I saw potential. As you can see, the bedroom furniture was gorgeous and the room had just the right elements to make this room... one to love.
What a wonderful retreat!
As you can tell, I am a professional home stager and not a professional photographer (at least not yet, ha!). In person, the room was much softer. When the agent came to view the property, she stopped at the Master Bedroom and said " This makes me feel so joyous right now, I hope everyone that sees this room feels the same way".
As a home stager we are trained to look beyond the clutter, and to imagine the possibilities. It sure makes our job easier when the client has updated elements to work with.
With that being said, look at the Master bathroom before photo:
It appears that the Pottery Barn Collection paint palette stoped here. The bathroom came complete with dark army green/brown paint. Not even in the same hue as the bedroom. Note the large (contractor grade) mirror. After discussing paint color, the client asked if changing the mirror with framed mirrors would be okay? I immediately said yes and to keep in mind the cherry cabinets when choosing them. I love movtivated sellers!!!
My clients painted and hung the mirrors. I removed all clutter, and everyting you see...well it is theirs.
I Love It When Clients have hidden treasures!
