There's Nothing More Graceful than Swans on a Lake
Hanover Lake is in the South Meriden CT area. As I was driving back from a showing, I noticed large white objects just bobbing along on the lake''s surface. I stopped at a light and it allowed me time to get a closer look.
I stopped at the edge of the lake, and there were cars of people throwing food out for the birds, and no signs requesting that they not do so, so the birds were not native to the lake, but having shelter and food, see no reason to leave. There were also some mallards enjoying the free lunch as well.
The swans just swam along with no visible effort. Occasionally they would dive over to catch something that must have looked tasty. Graceful, striking for their all white color and contrasting black mask and orange bill, they are truly one of nature's finer works.
