West Michigan's First LEED for Homes "Platinum" Project

Image Design and Adam Bearup of Hybrid Homes are please to announced today that it's Hybrid Home project in Onekama Michigan has been awarded the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) highest certification through is LEED for Homes program. The Hybrid House received LEED for Homes "Platinum"certification. Only 22 other homes in the nation have received this honor. Along with the "Platinum" LEED for Homes Certifications and winning the GLREA 2007 Exemplary Project Award, this hybrid home has also been awarded an Energy Star Rating of 5+ Stars. You can also read more about this project in the March issue of Concrete Homes magazine and in the up coming Northern Home & Cottage magazines May issue. If you would like to tour this home it will be the 2008 Michigan Energy Fair Show Home. The Michigan Energy Fair is June 27th - 29th in Onekama Michigan. We also would like to thank the homeowner and all the Team Hybrid member for their great job on this project. Team members get ready! were about to register our next LEED for Homes project.

Hey Eric,

Great post. LEED platinum is always exciting to see happening in any home. We have a couple of them going on that should obtain platinum status here in the Big Bend region in Florida. I'll post about them when they are done.

Thanks Alex, I would like to see the projects in your area that your talking about. I have two new project were about to resister under the LEED for Homes program one is projected "Platinum and another one is projected "Gold". And I'm in the designing stages of 6 more homes that will also be LEED certified projects.

Thanks Bonnie! I agree with you and I think we will see thousands of these types of homes built here in Michigan. We need the MLS to recognize there is a difference and list whether its a Energy Star, Green Built Michigan or a LEED certified home. We also need lenders, appraiser and insurance companies to realize the advantages of a green certified home.

Michigan is now No. 2 in the nation for LEED for Homes Certified projects. Not bad for having one of the worse economy's in the nation!

Don't forget the 2008 Energy Fair is just weeks away. Its you chance to tour a Certified LEED for Homes "Platinum" Project. And get a sneak peak of the plans for our new projects under construcion one is a projected LEED For Homes "Gold" project and another one is a projected LEED for Homes "Platinum" project.

We just got the news from the World of Concrete 2009, held in Las Vegas. That the Onekama project has won the 2008 ICF Builder Magazine Award for Large ICF Residence 3,000 to 6,000 sq. ft.
