You win some, you lose some, and some get rained out, but you gotta suit up for them all.
(J. Askenberg)
While prospecting, I probably reach 20-50% of my attempts. So I have to dial the phone or knock on doors about 5 times to get one contact.
Conventional realtor wisdom says that you've got to make 100 contacts in order to get 1 appointment. That means 99 people are going to say NO to you for every ONE appointment you get. You might be able to improve your odds a bit if you practice your "pitch" or connect with a great coach, but there are still going to be more NOs than YESs.
It's reasonable to expect that you'll get 1 listing out of every 2-4 appointments you go on. Of course, you can increase the odds by having a kick-butt listing presentation.
Doesn't matter. If you DON'T do any prospecting, you won't have ANY appointments. So even when it feels futile, just do it.
Commit to a set amount of time every day - twenty minutes, three hours, whatever.
And give it your best.
You will win some.
You will lose some.
But you've got to suit up for them all.
