Sabotage your sale-- without knowing it

By
Real Estate Agent with RETIRED 200305001

You can sabotage your sale and not even know it. I have had a bunch of it lately. The first one I mentioned heavy pet odor when I took the listing. I mentioned the dog needs a bath frequently. You guest it, we had a bunch of showings and a bunch of negative feedback. The response was I guess we with have to bathe more than once a week. Now we need a price reduction and am getting push back.

The next one is frustrated that I have not been able to move the property in less than a year. Every time I need a decision or a document, procrastination sets in. Folks I am not a magician. Your thoughts?

I love pet smells in a home, ones that I am buying to flip and everyone runs away from. If I buying, will transform into something sweet.

Thank you for commenting on my post.

I agree with Joe, if you want to sell below market value, just keep the smelly dogs in place and never clean the litter box.

Sellers just love to blame the agent....they don't like hearing that they need to take action or spend money to improve their chance of selling.

Rob, not sure how you are passing along the feedback, butninwould start doing it unedited... Some sellers just don't want to hear it though.

Pretty amazing, I just don't understand WHY people hire a Realtor and then do NOT follow the Realtor's advice! WHO has the experience here? Why not listen?

Focus on their motivation.  If they are motivated enough, they will see the light.  If not, perhaps they don't really want to move.
