Anyone who lives in the Reno community knows how amazingly lucky we are to live near some of the best skiing in the country. Reno residents need only drive an hour or two south to visit the gorgeous ski resorts of Heavenly, Kirkwood, Squaw Valley or Mt Rose Ski Tahoe. In fact, Mt Rose Ski Tahoe opened up in a limited capacity just last weekend! Now, there has been an announcement that Reno goes international to Europe with flights to and from London's Gatwick Airport.
Europeans love their holidays ("vacations" to us Yanks). Wintertime is a favorite time to get away for holiday. Starting next winter, Great Britain will have more than Aspen, New York and Los Angeles to choose from. That's when Reno goes International. Thomas Cook Airlines recently announced that they will be offering the very first non-stop between London and Reno twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays) beginning December 19, 2015 and continuing through until April 9th 2016.
Anyone interested in planning a non-stop trip between Reno and London for next winter can visit the Thomas Cook Airlines' website to start booking their trip now. The Reno-Tahoe International Airport already announced their very first non-stop service ever last month with Volaris Airlines' service to Guadalajara, Mexico. This begins next month. The airport is currently updating its customs inspection facility to accommodate the Mexico flights. The London non-stop service is still contingent upon approval of landing rights from US Customs and Border Protection.
Beginning next winter, Reno goes International to Europe. At least, the airport does. Instead of having to change flights once, twice or more to get to Europe, travelers between London and Reno can get back and forth on one single non-stop flight. That is amazing!
