Twinkling lights, shiny decorations and brightly wrapped packages are not the only things that indicate Christmas is coming to the Prince Frederick community. The smells of the holidays fill the air as well. One of those smells will surely be coming from the 2014 Prince Frederick Gingerbread House Workshops!

Have you ever made a gingerbread house of your own before? Never fear. The 2014 Prince Frederick Gingerbread House Workshops are here to guide you in this task. This fun holiday past time is made even better when you realize that everything you use in your small piece of artwork is completely edible. The library will provide the basic building blocks of each child's gingerbread house, including frosting. However, the library is requesting that every participant bring a bag of edible decorations (hard candy, licorice, gumdrops, etc) to share with the entire group for use on the houses during the workshop.
The 2014 Prince Frederick Gingerbread House Workshops are open for kids in grades K through 12. In order to ensure that there are enough goodies for everyone to participate, the library is requiring that participants pre-register. To do so, please call the Calvert Library or email them your request. If the Prince Frederick branch is too far away, the Fairview Branch in Owings will also be hosting gingerbread house workshops on the exact same date and at the exact same times.
