Tiny Houses in Fremont County Colorado
Tiny homes are the new hot housing trend. I get a few calls a week about moving “tiny homes” into Fremont County. And with all the inexpensive land available in Glen Vista and Colorado Florida acres it’s no wonder people are calling. But there is an issue…
According to Fremont County Colorado Zoning “tiny houses” are not allowed. Neither is camping for that matter. And here are a few reasons why:
1) Zoning doesn’t allow it!

2) Water! You’re going to want water. Colorado has VERY strict water laws: http://water.state.co.us/Home/Pages/default.aspx
3) Septic. Nobody wants waste on the ground or polluting wells.http://www.fremontco.com/building/environmentalhealth.shtml
For those who want to “work the land” or “live off the land” I’m all for it. But at 7000+ feet above sea level it’s difficult to grow. Also the Rocky Mountains are made of granite.

Please come to Fremont County, we want you. But come with some flexibility in your plan. We have places without Homeowners Associations, great views, great locations.
