2015 Hilton Head Island SC Speaker Series
We are so lucky to have two organizations on the island that really devote themselves to hosting various presentations throughout the year. The Heritage Library and The Coastal Discovery Museum get together to provide just that.
Tonight's speaker was Marc Frey, local media entrepreneur and publisher of the Hilton Head Monthly. His given topic was "Risks and Opportunities in the Next Decade for an Island Community". It may seem that this would be covered by a stated 10 or 20 year plan by the Town of Hilton Head but you'd be wrong. It was fascinating to hear Frey outline some potential risks and rewards. Frey talked about identifying what is so unique about Hilton Head. He talked about the need to create additional soft industries to enhance economic development as well as to explore a cohesive vision. The point for new residents of our island community, the takeaway is that there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in your newly adopted place to live and loads of ways to contribute all of your terrific expertise.
Also coming up are the following presentations to put on your calendar! All of them start at 5:30P with a wine reception before the speaker at 6:00P and take place at The Coligny Theatre in Coligny Plaza.
