Most of us, myself included, have very strong feelings about Z, T and R. Pros of receiving leads from a heavily used site, to a home for your reviews to return on investment. The cons of having to pay for your own leads, to supporting the SEO of 3rd party sites to helping the real estate industry go the way of movie rental stores and travel agents. Ever hear of Expedia? The same guy that owns Z owns Expedia, sits on the board of Netflix, and is known for disrupting industries. I am sure there are more reasons. But it boils down to this for me:
Are you in business to be an order taker, or are you a rainmaker? Seriously? Do you prefer to be at the mercy of the big boys, bowing to whatever demands they make? Or do you prefer to create your own business, prospecting for leads, creating a killer website that actually produces leads? Perhaps its easier to think of it as being "employed" vs. "self-employed." The choice is yours. Participate in the fall of our industry, or fight back with your knowledge, skill and all around rainmaker skills.
