In our everyday lives, it is far too simple to forget about the struggles of others. With the convenience of grocery stores and restaurants, it is easy to overlook impoverished families where food insecurities and hunger are an everyday struggle. According to national statistics, over 50.1 million Americans, children as well as adults, struggle to provide food for themselves. As human beings, we must ask ourselves, “How can we stop this?”

About Empty Bowls, Jr:
In 1990, two individuals had an idea to stop hunger. Lisa Blackburn, a dedicated woman, and John Hartom, a simple art teacher, on a mission to help provide families with food in their community started a benefit called “Empty Bowls”. Empty Bowls was created to raise funds, by selling hand crafted bowls, for beneficial causes as well as promote education in art. This small, grassroot project eventually became a worldwide project by The Imagine/RENDER Group, a 501(c)3organization.
