With Cuba just 90 miles from away, Cuban coffee is a big deal here in Key West. Sandy's Café and The Cuban Coffee Queen are probably the most popular restaurants that serve Cuban coffee, but there are many places to get it on the island. Here are some of the different choices you have when ordering Cuban coffee:
My favorite: Café Con Leche (Cuban coffee with steamed milk). It's comparable to a cappuccino or café latte.
Cortadito: A Cuban espresso shot topped with steamed milk. In Spanish it means "small cut".
Bucci: A Cuban espresso shot.
Colada: A double Bucci with cane sugar
And consumers beware: Cuban coffee is no joke!
