I had a wonderful call this morning: a woman who currently lives in Woodstock, NY and has had it with winter, which I totally understand after this winter in so many parts of the country.
She's looking for a funky, artsy community, that has vegan restaurants, Indian shops & restaurants, and juice bars that is both pedestrian and bicycle friendly.
I love these kinds of calls, because I immediately start thinking of cool, funky places close to me, like the Riverside area of Jacksonville, FL, & St. Augstine, FL.
Then my mind starts to wander to other cool funky towns like Defuniak Springs (which I've never been to), and Cedar Key (which I have).
What are your top recommendations for cool, funky, artsy, vegan outposts in Florida? My caller may be looking outside my immediate area, so I'm information gathering right now.
