WestMonroe, a great place to live and Crossfit. This past year I committed to get in shape and living a healthy lifestyle. I started riding a mountain bike and quickly switched to a road bike. I had quickly fallen in love with the activity. I began researching the best way to eat and my friend Mandi recommended Tosca Reno’s book Eat Clean. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed eating the food, learning to cook, and how amazing I felt when I was eating well. My good friend Edwin and my title attorney and good friend B.J. Durrett shared with me the amazing results and sense of community he was getting from a place called Crossfit and a Paleo diet. I had heard of them and as much as I liked the idea I just couldn’t decide. CrossFit is known for its intensity. I went ahead and met with Chelsea and Bart at the Crossfit West Monroe on the corner of Stella & I20. I am so glad I did. Bart took me through the paces, he explained the philosophy at their gym, or “box” as they’re called. He shared that here the coaches will help you build a foundation, teaching you about technique and consistency. Once you’ve got those down, then you can add intensity. Bart, Chelsea, and the other coach’s I have worked out with do an amazing job of ensuring that I get an amazing workout, that I am getting stronger, and I will be able to hit my fitness goals without injury to myself. Crossfit is an amazing workout. I love the folks I work out with and I am so much stronger than ever before. As a local Realtor, I see many people moving into the community and I hope this blog post really helps you find a place to work out and meet some amazing people.
