Build your Family Compound in Santa Fe where Georgia O’Keeffe stayed

Tom Trujillo

It’s not often when you can fine land in Santa Fe proper that would allow you to build the family compound, creating a legacy for future generations. This unique property has 4.33 acres was set up with a small sub-division in mind.

The owners loved the peace and quiet and maintained the 4.3 acres of open space and the 930 sq. ft. casita. Much of the infrastructure has been completed including city sewer. Inside is old Santa Fe, with vigas, kiva fireplace, saltillo tile floors and a Mexican tiled kitchen and bath with hand made cabinets. There is also 436 sq.ft. studio workshop and detached 2 car garage. The land is pristine, with old pinion trees, and native grasses.
FodorsAccording to Fodors 1994  Guidebook, the casita was used as Georgia O’Keeffe’s studio when she stayed with her friend Berta Dutton,  New Mexico’s first female archaeologists and original owner of the casita, farmhouse and land.  The possibilities are endless with this in city location. Build your Santa Fe dream home, family compound or enjoy having land and retreat that feels like country in middle of Santa Fe.

Tom, clearly Washington, DC does not have a monopoly on interesting historic homes.  This sounds like a wonderful property.

It really is.  If you have someone in DC who's looking to move or get a second home in Santa Fe, I'd love to get a referral from you. I'll do the same.  T.
