Delightfully bossy visitors at San Juan Capistrano
Open House
I hosted open house Sunday at my nice listing at 31881 Paseo Cielo in San Juan Capistrano. This is the property affectionately known as the big, yellow house.
There was a steady stream of visitors including a repeat visit by a mother and daughter. They noticed I'd left my car hazard lights on. I'd turned the hazard lights on when I placed the open house signs and forgot to turn them off.
The mother and daughter insisted I try to start my car to make sure the battery wasn't dead. I said I'd be fine and if I needed a jump I'd call my husband or Auto Club. The mother and daughter were adamant that I try to start my car with them there. I did. The battery was dead.
Mother and daughter continued to be delightfully bossy. They said they were going to pick up my open house signs while I called to get someone to give my battery a jump. The daughter said she's 62 and I think Mom said she's in her mid 80's and they were insisting on picking my signs up for me!
We negotiated and agreed that I'd remove the signs from the front yard and wait inside the locked house until help arrived.
The daughter is a retired lawyer and doesn't exactly come across as sunshine and butterflies. I suspect she was a bad ass in court. On this day, I saw a different side of the daughter, which was very nice! The mom comes across as super smart with a side of goofy silliness.
Mom and daughter insisted on keeping me safe and that was really nice.
