Northern Forest Canoe Trail Through Paddler Presentation at Splash!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Great American Dream Realty

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a 740 mile series of waterways that paddlers like to canoe or kayak. The rivers and lakes traverse New York, Vermont, Quebec, Maine and New Hampshire.

On Saturday May 9, 2015, join fellow paddlers to hear a five panel presentation at Splash at the Boathouse at the Burlington waterfront.  The event begins at 4:30 with drinks and appetizers and some time to socialize with other paddlers. The presentation at 5:00 will center upon how to plan for and carry out your trip as well as anectdotes from their trips.

It is my dream to kayak this trail. I have heard two presentations in the past of people who have done the entire trail in 26 and 31 days while camping out every night. How peaceful, relaxing and fun does this sound?!

I would love to make this trip too. Heck even the event to talk about it sounds like a good time. Thanks for sharing it Lisa.

Hi Lisa Friedman ... What an amazing adventure that would be to spend a month kayaking and camping! I hope that dream comes true for you! Would love to attend the event just to hear about it and the stories.

That sounds like an awesome trip...and I have no doubt you will make it one day.  Do you plan to take your dog?

Susan Haughton , I would love to take Sadie. However, it will probably be 3+ years before I do this and she won't fit in my current (sleek) kayak. The type of boat she would fit in would be about forty pounds heavier plus her twenty three pounds of weight - so I don't know how feasible paddling and extra sixty three pounds plus dog food that would be. I would love to have her along to camp out with though.

Rene Fabre , I would relax and take more than a month to do it. I don't need to break any speed records. I would be stopping to smell the roses, taking photos, etc. so probably closer to two months for me. I will add this to the list in addition to the cross country bicycle trip I would love to do!

Oh you just went and tickled my summer-bone!  I have paddled the Boundary Waters area out of Minnesota, and I long to go back.  I say you should put this one on your bucket-list.  Cheers!

Lisa - that water is so inviting.  I have done a good deal of canoeing in my earlier years.

A month of canoeing, sounds exhausting, yet like a dream trip, I hope you can find time to accomplish this.
