We love Klamath falls, Oregon. It's been our home for 30 plus years. We'e raised our children here and hope to retire here someday.
Bill and I came here in 1974 from Arizona. He took a job managing a big ranch in nearby Bonanza. It was 1900 acres of pure bliss with about 350 head of cows and lots of wide open spaces. I was busy as a homemaker raising our 5 children. We had wonderful years on the ranch and as the children grew and entered college it became apparent that mom was going to have to go to work. I always loved real estate and loved meeting new people. My dad had been a Realtor so I had at least a taste of what it was like as a career. After I got my license and began working Bill got his license, too. For many years he ran the ranch and sold real estate. We were a good team. We had worked together on the ranch all our lives so our real estae team was a natural for us.
Klamath Falls is a wonderful small city in Southern Oregon just across the California line. It's big enough to have all the most needed services but small enough to be enjoyable. It takes about 20 minutes to go from one side of town to the other! The big beautiful countryside bump the edges of Klamath Falls. and visable almost anywhere you drive. Seeing ducks, geese (we're on the pacific flyway) pelicans eagles and cranes is a daily occurance. Klamath falls is surrounded by several smaller communites. Bonanza, Keno, Merrill, Malin, and Chiloquin. They each have there own unique flavor and fun to visit or live in. The big destination resort , the Running Y Ranch, is on the northwest side of town. Many locals live there and it has a world class golf course. There is an alive and well downtown area plus several suburban shopping centers. We have a wonderful medical center called Skylakes Medical Center and a 4 year college Oregon institue of Technology (OIT). We also have a community college and a city library. Downtown there are several theatres the most well known is Ross Raglund Theatre. Regular shows featuring everything from country and western music to ballet entertain local people. You'll see the city Mayor and the ranch cowboys at the same shows. The season change in Klamath Falls and we do get snow. As with many areas it seems we usually don't get as much snow as we use too. Spring is probably my least favorite season as when you are so anxious for summer you still get snow flurries one day and warm gorgeous weather the next! Fall is probably the most beautiful season with clear blue skys and temperate weather. Summers are moderate and we usually don't have many days in the 100's.
We invite you to come see Klamath Falls, Oregon. We'd love to give you a tour.
