For some time, a very close friend has been researching solar power to reduce his carbon footprint while creating additional home value.
Todd has researched D-I-Y options as well as had quotes from company's but a question kept coming up. Being so costly to jump into, he wanted to make sure the roof could create maximum electricity with the alloted square footage.
Without knowing for sure, we setup a timelapse to show the roof's shadow path through an entire August day. Without getting into all the technical stuff, which I know zero about, here is how we setup the test.
We usied a clamp mount, extension cable, custom case, and a GoPro set to timelapse mode, and a 64g memory card to create the needed pictures. Comprised of 1,952 pictures, below is the 16.5hr, totaly timelapse, in 1m 30s. Todd was pretty pleased on the video and using it to determine if solar is the right choice.
How do you use technology to help clients or friends outside of selling homes?
