Events on Saturday, September 4, Sunday, September 5 and Monday, September 6

Whether you are looking for activities for you and your kids, or planning a girls' day out, or a romantic date, or simply don't want to stay bored at home - you are probably overwhelmed by so many things happening in Bay Area. Or may be you are just too lazy to look, so you don't know what to do.

Bacon Festival of America

Where: Market Avenue & Park Avenue, San Jose
Hours: Saturday & Sunday 12:00-7pm
What: BACON, beer, music, food trucks

Annual Sand Sculpture Contest

Where: Drakes Beach Road, Point Reyes Station,
Hours: Sunday 9am-3:30pm
What: San sculptures
Cost: FREE

The event is free for both participants and spectators and prizes will be awarded for all age categories. Registration begins at 9 am at the Ken Patrick Visitor Center.

Judging begins at noon. Prizes will be awarded at 3 pm in categories including Children (14 and under), Families, Adult Individuals, and Adult Groups, as well as a prize for the sculpture with the most recycled plastic.

 

Bank Of America Free Museum Weekend

Where: 150 museums nationwide
Hours: Sunday
What: Free museum pass
Cost: FREE

Holders of Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit cards and debit cards get free admission to six Bay Area museums and two Sacramento museums for the first weekend each month.

Where: 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way, San Francisco
Hours: Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm
What: Comics, art books
Cost: FREE

The San Francisco Zine Fest is a free, annual celebration of small-press publishing from zines and comics to art books and beyond.

Over 200 small-press and DIY creators will be selling, trading, and otherwise sharing their work at the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. There are tons of free workshops and panels and, as always, the show is free to attend.
