World Trade Center Workers Remembered in PA

When I saw this announcement today, I immediately thought about a recent visit to Coatesville Pennsylvania and seeing for the first time their memorial to 9-11. The steel for the World Trade Center had been constructed of steel made by Lukens Steel workers in Coatesville. memorial

The National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum presents a commemoration at the  World Trade Center Steel Trees.  ‘Coatesville Remembers September 11’  will be presented today from  8:30AM to 4:00PM. there will be refreshments and free tours of the site. When I first read the material posted at the site, I wasn’t familiar with the term “trees” as it was used, but then as I looked at the large piece of steel on display, it became clear that the form did resemble a tree shorn of its branches. Here I will let the words on plaques at the memorial tell the story:
