Gas Prices and Real Estate

Just wondering if the price of gas as slowed your sales? I am encouraging by buyers to research the listing before I take them for a showing. What do I mean by research is to do a drive by and view the neighborhood etc... I just hear the average price per gallon of gas is now 3.51. This is more than what we were paying in the 1980 for gas. We have not even started talking the price of beef. I know we will survive this period but it is starting to get my attention. Just want to hear how the AR community is handling this concern.

Frank - lately I have notice two very different type of buyers.   One kind is they say, "let us check out the neighborhoods" and do that before we schedule showings.   The second is the type that want me to take them everywhere and they honestly say....let' go in your car since it's a business expense for you!   Gas here to day was $ 3.69.... ouch.

Do you ever wonder how many people think you get paid by the hour.

I don't think it's slowed my sales but the price of gas has caused me to be more mindful of errands/coordinating showings, etc.  I just paid $3.79 for unleaded and $4.14 for diesel.  It's beginning to feel like I live in Europe.

Jesse, just think of how much gas would be in Europe in this market.  I am more mindful of making trips now that's for sure.
