Great Chicago Buildings: The Art Institute of Chicago

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Exit Strategy Realty

The Art Institute of Chicago is the oldest institution for visual arts completed in 1893 for the World's Columbia Exposition with one exception it was designed to be a permanent building.

Two bronze lions by Edward Kerney great people in front of the building on Michigan Avenue.

The Museum has one of the largest impressionist collection including my favorite by Claude Monet's Sunday in the Park with George ( shown below).

The Art Institute has a new Modern Art Wing exhibiting great works like Andy Warhol

But one of my favorites is the Marc Chagall stained glass

Whatever your taste is in Art the Art Institute will not dissapoint you. Follow is a link to upcoming exhibits at the Art Insttitute of Chicago
