And the first thing North Shore kids will want to do is head on over to the Winnetka Children's Fair on the Village Green of Winnetka. And that's just one of the many things to do this weekend.

Winnetka Children’s Fair
June 10: 10 am – 5 pm, June 11: 10 am – 2:30 pm
Village Green, Elm and Oak Streets, east of Green Bay Rd., Winnetka

It’s the 71^st Anniversary of the Winnetka Children’s Fair. Sponsored by the Winnetka Community Nursey School and various community businesses, the fair marks the last day of classes in Winnetka and the official start to summer. Kids from all over the North Shore are invited to join in on carnival rides, animal rides, games, food, and more fun! For more info, click here.

North Shore Chamber Music Festival
June 8, 10* , 11: 7:30 pm (*Pre-concert performance showcasing Chicago area’s talented young musicians from the Betty Haag Academy of Music, Midwest Young Artists, featuring cellist Daniel Kaler at 6 pm. Free with purchase of same day evening performance)

The NSCMF was founded in 2010 by concert violinist Vadim Gluzman and pianist Angela Yoffe in a quest to provide Chicago’s North Shore with musical experiences of the same caliber and quality as those found in Metropolitan Chicago and the great halls of the world, but within a very intimate and welcoming environment. This year’s festival will see the return of old and new friends including – star pianist William Wolfram, incomparable cellists Wendy Warner and Mark Kosower, legendary violist and composer Atar Arad and the wonderful Ariel Quartet. From sublime masterpieces of Bach and Schubert to great blockbusters of Tchaikovsky and Dvorak, from the great drama of Lera Auerbach’s music to the heartfelt romance of Max Bruch – there is something for everyone!
