July 8–12, Major League Baseball All-Star Week

Petco Park joins Jack Murphy Stadium as a host of the MLB All-Star Week festivities. Festivities include MLB All-Star Fanfest, MLB All-Star Sunday, Gatorade All-Star Workout Day, Soul Pose MLB All-Star Yoga and the Color Run MLB All-Star 5k.

July 9–10 and July 16–17, 63rd Annual World Championship Over-The-Line Tournament

Over-the-Line Tournament! Over fifty years of adult sandbox play. A form of rugged sand softball play, over 1,300 three-person teams play on 50 mini-courts over two consecutive weekends. Crowds of people in beachwear gather to watch the games amid music and beer. Admission is free. You must be 18+ to play (there are nine age divisions). OTL is a public event and is free to attend as a spectator.

July 10, 35th Annual Carlsbad Triathlon 2016

Carlsbad Triathlon ranks among the nation’s longest running triathlons and is for everybody: from first-timers to elites as well as their friends and family. It is a sprint distance race, consisting of a 1K open water ocean swim, which is well-marked with buoys, followed by a 25K bike and a 5K run. The roads are wide and closed to traffic—very safe! The course is mostly flat with a couple of rolling areas.

July 15, Del Mar Racing Opening Day

More than 40,000 race fans are expected to attend what is defined as one of the most fabulous, fashionable and fun festivities in the west—Opening Day at Del Mar. This day is not only about big bets and fast horses, but also about celebrating the season in style. Fashion-minded guests may participate in Del Mar’s annual tradition, the Opening Day Hats Contest where entrants compete for cash prizes and are judged on creativity
and style.

July 15–17, San Diego Annual LGBT Pride Parade, Rally, Festival, Block Party

San Diego Pride’s famous cultural festival includes multiple stages of entertainment, more than 80 musicians, bands, comedy and dance performers, 300 participating vendor booths, an art exhibit, cultural presentations, and great food! This two-day Pride Festival in Balboa Park has become a premier PRIDE event in California.

July 16, 13th Annual Bake at the Lake

Participate in this four-mile cross-country race on the trails at Lake Hodges and get a good workout for a good cause. Proceeds will benefit Mission Vista High School Cross Country Teams.

July 21–24, Comic Con International 

Features special guests, exhibitors, panels, seminars, previews and more on the world of comics, movies, television, animation, art. Artist’s alley, art auction, art show, autographs, film festival, and more. This is the largest comic book and pop culture event in the United States.

July 23–24, Annual Insect Festival 

This one-of-a-kind event features thousands of fascinating creepy-crawlies including live insects, lizards, snakes, and the famous “Madagascar hissing cockroaches.” Children can practice bug collecting, make hands-on insect arts and crafts, and even taste cooked mealworm larvae in various flavors such as mesquite, teriyaki, and barbeque. Entomologists and other bug experts will be available for questions, and more than 20 informational booths will teach and entertain children and adults alike.

July 25–August 28, 46th Annual Ramona Country Fair 2015 

At Ramona’s Annual Country Fair there will great family fun
