Why Veterans Should Use an MRP Designated Realtor

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with 12 Stones NWA Brokered by eXp Realty Rogers EB00074452

As a former active duty United States Marine I take pride in the comradery we have as our world's largest collective force. We may give each other a lot of grief over who's the more elite or strongest branch (we all know it's the Marines *wink*wink*) but, we are all connected in a way that the general public will never fully understand.

Although I served in the Marine Corps, from 1999 to 2004, as a machine gunner with 2/4 Echo, I have forgotten a lot of the military ways of doing things. The acronyms, terminology, the processing, and the full array of benefits available to those who serve. I've had the opportunity to use my GI Bill to go to College, and my VA Loan benefits when buying my first home. To which has been almost 12 years now. (Wow, has it been that long?)

If I want to be known as the expert military relocation professional I need to get educated on the process and the changes that have happened over the past decade. Which is why I chose to take the MRP Designation course offered through NAR

MRP Logo

This designation certification educates those Realtors who want to work with our service members and provide them with the housing solution that will best suit their needs. When you're educated in the military process you'll know that buying is not always the best option. In many cases we, as Realtors, will push towards the buying option because we understand the benefits of homeownership.  As an active duty member it might be the least favorable option.

If buying is the option the active, or veteran, member chooses then as an MRP Designated Realtor you'll know every aspect of the VA Loan process, and will have all the tools necessary to guide and educate your client all the way to the closing table.

If you're reading this and you disagree then you might want to take the course and find out why. If you're reading this and agree, then cheers. We're here to serve, and as Realtors, to serve in the publics best interest. This includes our United States Military personel.

I'm honored to be an MRP Realtor, and even more so to be a Marine Corps Veteran. If you're looking in Northwest Arkansas to BUY or SELL any Real Estate, I'll take pride in serving you as your Realtor. If you're a Veteran and live in any other state and want help finding an MRP Designated Realtor near you I can help. Call me directly at (479) 340-4744 and I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Semper,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy. Glad to see your post Featured. MRP is a worthwhile designation for anyone looking to service our military members and their families. I remember when you contacted me awhile back about reaching our service members in their communities. It's a nice niche, and I trust you are doing well with it.

Wishing You the BEST!

Thanks Jerry! Yeah, I feel like I know you personally out of everyone here at ActiveRain. Thanks for your help and guidance. I hope it comes back to you a thousand fold.
Btw, I've already had a referral from Texas that found me on the MRP website. So, it's already paid for itself a hundred times.
Thanks again and I hope you're well, Jerry.

Yes sir, acronyms are very prevalent in the military. Google can help out in a jiffy.

In a seller market most homes have a dozen or more offers. The buyer wrote a letter introduce himself Vietnam vet, 101 Air Calvary. His offer was not the highest and the letter made a difference because he served in 101 also.

I often take low end home buyers on the the basis of needs and keep cash investors as backup.  If you have 6M in the bank you let the first time home owners have a chance.

Good evening Jeremy,

Thank you for your service.  I was not aware of the MRP designation.

I was stationed in Camp Pendleton.  Really close to you.  You should check out MRP's requirements. It's not a hard course.  You could get some really great referrals out of it.

First, thank you for your service. However, IMO, a knowledgeable and experienced agent can help a veteran to buy, sell or refinance without a MRP designation.

A professional will always analyze the goals,  objectives, time line, tax implications, and financial circumstances before making any recommendations to purchase real estate.

Jeremy Cupp MRP, SRS, ePRO, ABR

Of course agents, good or bad, without the MRP designation can help veterans buy, sell, rent, and I guess refinance. I didn't/wouldn't say they can't. It's our responsibility to be knowledgeable in that area, and MRP can teach you something new. I guarantee it.

Maybe you should check it out. It's inexpensive and you can take the course online. If you're helping veterans, you owe it to them to be as much of a resource as you can be. And now that you've heard about MRP, there's no reason you shouldn't give it a "shot".

I'm kinda' like Kimo Jarrett, in that I feel if you do your job right, as an experienced professional, you can do an excellent job while helping someone relocate. MRP. That's a good niche to have. I too have a niche. I have represented buyers exclusively for over 20 years. Never listed even one house. And a large number of my buyers, well over half, I have helped relocate from elsewhere. And a significant number have been military, either active duty or retired. From enlisted to a full Colonel. I myself was an E-5 in the USAF, a looooong time ago. I have also helped Police, Fire, ATF, FBI, Homeland Security find their new homes. I do have designations...ABR, CRS, ePRO and the GRI. Buyers, especially relocation buyers, to me, are really rewarding, and I wouldn't do anything else.

Kudos to you, sir.

And now that you've heard about MRP you owe it to veterans to be the best resource as you can be. Like I was telling Kimo Sabe, the MRP course will teach you something new, guaranteed.

Thank-you for your service!  Great information on this designation.  Military families often move and while orders are given, they do change  My dad was a WWII Marine and my nephew (and Godson) were also Marines.  Our military families sacrifice much and need the best representation they can get with agent who truly understands the many variables they are working with at a new assignment.

Good to know! I'll have to check them out.

As i was telling Gary Waters (below), after finishing the MRP course and receiving the designation, I got a call from a mortgage lender in Texas who found me through the MRP website. He referred a buyer to me and we closed within a couple of months. The designation has already paid for itself.

An understanding of the "military way" goes  along way in helping service members. Although I rarely work with active duty I do use my 20 years of Navy experience (7 with Marine Corps) ti have a better understanding of the "ways."  Mys on is active duty Navy as well so I stay pretty close.  For one with little affiliation with military the MRP would definitely help. Welcome!

First, thank you for your service!  Welcome to ActiveRain and congrats on your designation.  Having your unique history with that designation is a powerful business tool that will surely help lots of veterans.  I can imagine you were very proud to get that designation!

I'm from your neighboring state, Kansas, but have been in your state repeatedly.  I have family in Mountain Home, Ava, and probably more cousins that I've never met in your state.  Haven't seen them in years, but I've tip toed back and forth across the line from Missouri to Arkansas as a kid more times than I can count; my grandparents lived in Gainevsville, MO.

Kudos to you and best of luck!
