Three Bullets *With God all things are possible*-Matthew 19:26 There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel but missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree. As he went further, he saw a large wild "Tom" turkey in the tree, but he had only one bullet remaining. A voice spoke to him and said, "Pray first, aim high, and stay focused. However, at the same time, he saw a deer which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake. Still, the voice said again to him, "I said, 'Pray, Aim high, and Stay focused." So, the man decided to listen to God's voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild turkey. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun, hit the snake in the head, and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer, and a turkey for his family to eat. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God. Moral of the story: Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that, "the past." Live every day one day at a time, and remember that only God knows our future, and that He will not put you through any more than you can bear. Do not look to man for your blessings, but look to the doors that only He has prepared in advance for you in your favor. Wait, be still, and patient: keep God first, and everything else will follow. Don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there!!!

Patty,
That was great, an excellent story with an important lesson. Sometimes its so easy to forget that we should pray before everything.
Patty,
Thanks for sharing this. It always so hard to trust God when it just doesn't make sense. Right when we think we have the goal in sight, something pops up to set us off track. Great message here about first listening, then following on the path God has led us on even when the world thinks we're insane for doing so.
Dionne-I'm so glad that you enjoyed it...I did as well...Thanks
Andrew-I know what you mean first hand. I'm so glad God is patient with us. Thanks
That would be a cute story if it were true.......
Thanks for posting it.....
I may have seen that in my e-mail inbox at one time or another....
;-)
Patty, great story, so often we let reason move us right out of the will of God. I'm learning to pray about everything also. Just this evening I had plants I wanted to get in the ground, so I stopped and asked God just to hold the rain off until I got the plants in the ground, it had started to spit a few drops, well we got the last plants in, I lifted them up to God, looked up and asked Him to bless them and I felt the first few rain drops on my face, so I thanked Him and started to the house, ever since then it's been a nice slow rain. God is so good to us.
PS:Life is so much better after listening to Joyce and Joel. Another person you might like is Gary Keesee - Financial Revolution - talk about eye opening and Larry Huck is really great.

Hi Patty, you are such a blessing. This post has truly encouraged my heart, mind, body, and soul. I am thankful that I do know that God is in control of all situations and he knows exactly what we need and when we need it. He says, to seek Him first and ALL things shall be added unto us. He says if we acknowledge Him in All our ways and He will direct our paths. Thats is why I pray about every situation I am in.
Thanks for the post. It gives me inspiration to stay focused on God and to listen to what God wants me to do.
Sonya-Thanks so much for the comment-that was very sweet. Seems like I learn something every day. I have to go to God about everything and I'm sooo thankful he is there for me always!
