Travis.. This is a great idea.. I've used it in the past.  However you also have to take into account the area you are fielding.  I've been working on a condo complex for years.  I get just enough work to pay for the postage, and cards.. not much of a profit.

I have found postcards very effective.  The most important thing is to get them out regularly so everyone knows your name and office.
