A clean inbox is a happy inbox

I use two different email addresses, one is with Cox which I have had for over a decade and the other is Gmail which I have had for awhile also. Cox does not do a good job of filtering spam so when I check the morning emails a ton of spam dominates it. This is when I decided to make Gmail my default business account and Cox the account for all others, and if business came into it I converted it. I also forwarded my longtime virtual email address to Gmail.

This is where Unroll.me steps in to make it a happy inbox. There may be other free applications that will work for organization but for over two years I have been happy with it overall. I am always hesitant to unsubscribe directly becasue first, they know I am there, and second I may be a bit paranoid that this may cause malware. With Unroll.met you have three choices: I can click to keep it in the inbox, second it can unsubscribe for me, or third it puts it into an organized and categorized "rollup" in a magazine format I get once a day. For instance, all the comments on Active Rain go together in the Rollup since that is not directly involved with contracts or business details. 

The easiest way to miss business to to have a sloppy inbox and even with Unroll.met I need the discipline to not only make a judgement about the pertinence of the message, but also to put it into a designated folder. Email is for me and I suspect a lot of real estate professionals, extremely important, and written correspondence is also required by our state commission to be kept, and I don't want to miss a thing. Unroll.me works on other types of email servers like Yahoo and Hotmail so check to see if yours is compatible. Unroll.met is not perfect, but what is, but overall it has made a difference in my business. Check it out or find something else that works.
