Relive the past, when you visit the NYC Railroad Museum,

in Elkhart, Indiana ...

One of the museums in the Elkhart area, is the NYC Train Museum. It can be visited year around. The museum has both indoor displays and of course the outside displays of REAL steam engines and train cars.  You can even climb in one of the antique locomotive engines and toot the horn for all to hear.

Inside, there are many displays to see and read about, including toy replicas of many different trains that our families played with as children.  Visit the working train set, complete with buildings, scenery and even tunnels for the numerous trains that run simultaneously.

If you want to plan an activity, such as a birthday party or gathering, they have separate rooms available. You can stop in or call ahead for larger groups. Everybody is fascinated with trains.

The NYC Train Museum is one of the many attractions in Elkhart to visit & enjoy.

Thanks for sharing, Larry.  That would be very interesting.  The story of the railroads are a big part of American history.  A friend and I rode our bicycles on the Hiawatha Trail this summer.  It is a 15 mile section of an old Milwaukee railroad route... with "10 tunnels and 7 sky high trestles"  An awesome experience.

Hi Larry - railroad museums are of interest to me.  I read a book on the history of the New York City subway system.

The NYC Museum in Elkhart is the best Train Museum I have ever been to. It beats the one in Paris, California.
