Five California Teachers, including Chi Deticek of Columbus Tustin Middle School, will be recognized with AVID Teacher Advocacy Awards, in front of more that 3,000 educators, at the Saramento Convention Center on Tuesday. An anonymous donor gave them a total of $10,000 to implement the program, which helps out students on the path to college.
