When I was a kid I remember people talking about where they were when President Kennedy was shot. I remember hearing when President Reagan was shot and hearing that James Brady was dead from a gunshot wound to the head and then later hearing that he was alive.
Today is Spetember 11th. This morning I took a few moments to remember where I was and who I was with as that horrendous day unfolded. It's amazing how that one day comes into perfect focus.
My family recently visited the September 11th Memorial created at Ground Zero in New York City. The timeline is very powerful. So are the recordings of people messages to loved ones throughout the exhibit.
So today I remember the almost 3000 innocent people who died that day. And I remember the brave people who responded to the call to help.
I remember, because I will never forget.
