What I’ve learned and that can be of help to a new realtor!
What do you wish you had known the very first year you were in the business that cost you lost business or income?
Making money on referrals. Due to the lack of training or knowledge I referred many clients to other agents and then I never heard from them. I wasn’t familiar with the legal forms or percentage for those type of transactions. Before referring a client to an agent make sure to have a signed form in hand before sending the client’s contact information.
Was there ever a time you questioned whether you had made the right choice of being a real estate agent? What events caused you to stick with it and succeed?
No, even though I started in real estate as a part time career and had struggles working two jobs I never had any regrets or gave up. Eventually, I had more financial freedom and became a full time realtor. All my efforts and hard work paid off.
What are 3 things you have learned along the way that have positively affected you and helped improve your real estate business?
Be a listener. In this business is not about us, it’s about listening and understanding the client’s needs.
Respect other agents. Get along with everybody and don’t take anything personal.

Learn every day. Consider taking courses to be up to date with all the rules and regulations. If you don’t know something, do your own research or ask your broker.
