If You Pass Johnson's Barn You've Gone To Far
Thank you Bob "RealMan" Timm
When giving directions to the Model Home I'm at every weekday I used to tell people that if you drive by the Hyatt House you went to far. It didn't take long to realize I was confusing people.Good directions are important if you are a Real Estate agent or a citizen selling your own home. I try to make sure ALL my listing have driving directions even if they are in an established part of town.
Keep in mind a lot of house hunters are hunting because they are new to town. This is especially true of Minot ND with an Air Force Base and people moving here from all over the world for employment in the oil field.
I'm sure some smug reader right now is saying "They have the address, they can just put it in their GPS". NEWS FLASH! Not everyone has GPS and not all GPS's seem to take you to the right place every time.
A smart agent knows that their listing will most likely be syndicated to many sites (like Zillow and Trulia) and that today's buyers will most likely drive by the home even before they call a Realtor. If the listing agent doesn't put directions in the MLS they are not going to show up on the syndicated sites either.... robbing their Seller clients of potential viewers of their listing.
I looked at the 16 new listings posted to our MLS today and only ONE actually posted directions. Check this out:
GREAT, now you know how long it takes to get to Powers Lake... no clue as what roads to take to Powers Lake or where the house is once you get there! And to think that was the only listing posted today with ANY directions.
Stated plainly one more time. Realtors! Do your clients a favor, give potential Buyers clear directions as to where your clients home can be found.
