Today I want to dedicate my blog to a wonderful person that I have had the pleasure of getting to know only recently....and boy is she a blessing to know! This person is Marci Toliver! Happy 40th Birthday! After reading Marci's blog on turning 40, my thoughts turned to some Sermon notes I had....one titled "RESILIENCY". These notes were about being defeated by tramatic circumstances or marked by Resiliency. Resiliency is a condition wheresby a person actually enlarges their capacity to handle problems and in the end, not only survive but GROW.
- Resilient people continually seek to reassert some command and control over their destiny rather than seeing themselves as passive victims.
- Resiliant people have a larger than usual capacity for what might be called moral courage-for refusing to betray their values.
- Resilient people find purpose and meaning in their suffering.
- Resilient people exercise control rather than passively resign.
- Resilient People remain committed to their values when tempted to compromise.
- Storms have a way of teaching us what nothing else can!
Marci...you are an inspiration to all of us and truely a blessing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
