Easy Exterior Updates

By
Home Builder with West Magnolia Charm

Updating the exterior of your home doesn't always mean painting the entire house. That can get fairly expensive. However,  there are a few less expensive ways to give your home a bit of a facelift.

1. Painting your front door

Changing the color of your front door can have the potential to change the overall look of your entire home.  You can keep it neutral yet still bold with a black paint color. It's a great way to add a pop of color to the exterior without going overbored. Best yet, it's far less expensive than painting your entire house.

2. Updating light fixtures

Sometimes the outdoor light fixtures can be overlooked. When choosing a new fixture, make sure to consider the size and the style of the light. You want the new light to be a beautiful accessory to accent your home.  Simply switching them out can give your home the update it needed.

3. Replacing your house numbers

Speaking as someone who just recently replaced my house numbers, I can vouch that it truly makes a difference. Not only is this an inexpensive update, but it also allows you to tailor your home to the style you want. For example, if you want your home to have more of a  modern feel.

4. Sprucing up your landscaping.

This doesn't have to be a complete overhaul of the existing landscaping. Maybe adding some flowers or adding a few new planters to complement your new front door color will do the trick.

5. Adding window flower boxes.

Flower boxes are a decorative element that will add a ton of charm and character to your home. If you have been thinking your home is missing something, try some flower boxes. It's a great way, non-permanent way to add some color to your home.

6. Painting your Shutters

Updating your shutters is a quick and inexpensive way to boost your home's curb appeal. Not only is it a way to add charm to your home but also it is an opportunity to get creative with color. You can choose shutter colors that will really make a statement. Transform the look of your home by simply changing the color of your window shutters.

If you think your home is lacking the curb appeal department, consider using one of these simple exterior updates. Not only will it boost your homes curb appeal but, you will feel good knowing you didn't have to spend a lot of money doing so.
