And Does It Really Matter What Style You Like?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with PMI. Destin

This is kinda of a trick question.  Each of us has their own favorite style, it is personality based, location/geography driven and entirely personal.  BUT and that is a big but.

When it is time to sell a home, you need to get your personal stuff out of the way and try to figure out what a buyer wants and work towards that.  This bright green or red accent walls made sense when you painted them but not now.  The likelee hood of a buyer sharing your sense of color is very slim.  Paint is cheap and well worth the investment when it comes time to sell your home.

It is interesting how much color is making a comeback, and how many strong colors are being described as neutral. Like wallpaper, which over the last few years has steadily been seen more and more, sellers homes are not as neutral as they used to be.

Peter,

Styles come and go, and savvy buyers will definitely be able to see through the green or red walls...Our first home had a pink master bathroom...A
