Truck Meet Event this year was set for the Labor Day weekend. Coronavirus has made so many changes to our way of living. I Twould be impossible to even imagine all these changes even a year ago…

Social distancing, …

This year 4-day event is the 4th in Daytona’s history. It is, probably, the most controversial event. Actually, probably not this time. Maybe it is because we only have about 35K guests and only 1,300 truck registered for the event.

I remember the 1st and 2nd event, and they were way more intimidating. It was a demonstration of size and power. Driving along them was uncomfortable. I know that Daytonians were petitioning the city to not let this event become an annual event. Yet, I did…

This year we only have about 35K people and 1,300 trucks. The event use to be 3 times bigger before. Still, trying to get to my condo in Daytona Beach Shores proved to be a challenge earluier today, as truck were trying to get to the Beach, and it was taking forever. That's when you benefit from knowing local roads, and knowing how to navigate around.

COVID -19 is robbing us from good and bad…

Hello Jon - nice to "see" you back posting on ActiveRain.  I can imagine that an event involving trucks would be one where large attendance(crowds) would be a part of the draw.

The current situation prompts all kinds of change.  I hope all is well with you.  Keep on truckin'.

Wayne Martin - seems like yet another attempt to overcome the virus. Everything is slow, even the events. Even the trucks are moving slower :)

Thank you, Michael. I was out for nearly 2 years. Took a project that left me no time to write, and even to live. Finally, I am out with a sigh of relief. Slowly life is coming back, and for tht I am very happy.
