Welcome to everyone! I just wanted to throw this out there....I know that in this market homes are not moving at the fast pace that they once were but that just means that we can get focused on not just helping our clients buy or sell their homes but we have a chance to also make a difference in our communities. I always liked the saying PAY IT FORWARD and I do believe that good things come to people who do good things so here is our idea...
I am part of a team called teamVAhome.com in Stafford, VA and we service Northern VA with a concentration in the Quantico, Triangle, Stafford, Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg area. In Fredericksburg there is a small place called the HOPE HOUSE....what is this you ask? It is a WONDERFUL place for homeless women and their children to go for up to 24 months to help them get back on their feet and start anew. They run, in part, on donations from the community for both items they need as well as funds raised to pay expenses. So the question we asked ourselves is how can we help?
The first idea was to help the women when they transition out into their own homes...but we needed to do more. So then we set up a drive at our Keller Williams Office in Stafford, VA where the awesome agents we work with donated items for the house as well as the items listed on the Summer Camp for the Kids list. That was great, but again why stop here...so we also worked to set up training which we will continue to conduct with new residents on the Home Buying Process and had a segment on the Lending Process and how to work with fixing up credit issues....But again what more could we do...
So in addition to jumping in with fundraisers that others were holding we decided to ask the local community to help us help the HOPE HOUSE...and the best thing is that it does not even cost them any money to do so....All we need is for Buyers and/or Sellers to use teamVAhome.com for their transactions in the Northern VA market and we will do the rest....We are donating 5% of our sales earnings directly back to the HOPE HOUSE...
The team was started with just the two of us Denise Sebuck and myself Ginger Walker and from the start before we even made one dime we decided that we would donate money back to help someone else get back on their feet...the decision to help made us feel like we were doing something more. It also made us both appreciate all the great things that we have in our own lives...between us we have 5 children and 2 great husbands one in the Military and the other and FBI agent who jump in and care for our little ones when we are out working with clients...We are lucky ladies and hope that we can make a difference in someone elses life....May I suggest to PAY IT FORWARD in your life too..the world would be a better place if people would just reach out and help another however small or big the gesture!
