Lyon County
Lyon County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population is 8,080. Its county seat is Eddyville. The county is named for Chittenden Lyon.
It is a limited dry county, meaning that the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited except by the drink in restaurants in the city of Kuttawa that seat at least 100 diners and derive at least 70% of total sales from food.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 256 square miles (664 km²), of which, 216 square miles (559 km²) of it is land and 41 square miles (105 km²) of it (15.88%) is water.
