YouTube has introduced rich metadata into select videos, which will significantly impact how online video is discovered and consumed. YouTube applies a technology in which automated spiders "listen" and transcribe the words in the audio track of a video. This transcription, in the form of metadata, is embedded into the video. Hopefully this will lead to the transcription and searchability of narrated real estate videos in popular search engines, such as Google. NOTE: This technology is currently being shown on Google Labs. it's just a matter of time before it trickles down to everyone. So it's even MORE important to have videos rich in 'audio text/keywords'. Eventually, you will be able to search on this narrative!YouTube Has Speech-to-Text Functionality.....and it Works
That is too cool. Both from a SEO perspective and from a user perspective. It's going to be a way to scim through a video similar to the way you scim over written copy.
I can see it now. People will make sure they speak in their keyword phrases.
Thanks for the great find.
This is great advancement. I agree with tim people will make sure they use there keywords in the script.
Hey Fred..wondered how long for this to happen. Because before, tags and clip title gave a clue of what's insde but no spiders able to clear the transcript. Cool...keep digging for us neophyte video wanna bees Fredster! Like Tim says, it will alter your copy a tad where before not as big a concern!
Now that's some really interesting... do you have any detail on how to utilize this?
This is somewhat of a missing link... with all those videos becoming searchable (even by time code I would presume) we'll have the ability to find the non-text reports that aren't pure words. Thanks for the alert Fred.
Fred - I found this very interesting because this would allow our videos and listings to be found beyond the actual descriptions.
