The Davis Islands Garden Club was organized in 1936 as the Circle of Tampa Federation and in 1953 changed to the Davis Island Garden Club. The Garden Club is located on Seddon Channel on Davis Island, at the point where the Hillsborough River flows into Tampa Bay. The Center has beautiful views of Harbour Island waterfront homes and Tampa Bay. The Davis Island Garden Club has a large patio and gazebo to enjoy the waterfront views.
The Club is a non-profit organization. It has a history of community development and service with the awards to show their success in doing so. The purpose for the Club is:
•· To encourage the beautification of Davis Islands
•· To encourage the growth of plants throughout the Islands
•· To assist in protecting wildlife
•· To educate the public and members regarding nature, gardening and horticulture
•· To uphold the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs laws.
The Davis Island Garden Club's facilities are available for civic events and the public can rent them for weddings and other events. If you are interested in joining the Club, they have general meetings the first Wednesday of each month, except in the summer, starting at 9:45 AM.
