Sunday Family Days at Pheasant Run Golf Club
Every Sunday after 5pm we invite you and your family to enjoy a 9 hole round of golf together. All you need to do is call Pheasant Run to book a Tee time and off you go. Call 734/397-6460 to make your reservation. Fees: $50 for a family of 3 or, $60 for a family of 4.
Take An Historical Hike in Cherry Hill Village
Take part in Canton's historical hike!Come and learn the history of the area during this free hike offered on the first Sunday of each month now through October 5. Walking tours will leave from the Cady-Boyer Barn eat noon, 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., weather permitting. Each month a new location will be highlighted by the Canton Historical Society for an in-depth look. Be sure to wear suitable walking shoes. Finish your hike by stopping off at the Canton Farmers Market, located at the same site. No registration is necessary. For more information, call 734/394-5460.
Digital Photography Camp
Calling all you shutter bugs for a unique experience offered by Abrakadoodle Art Education August 18-22 from 9:00-11:30 a.m. Students, ages 6-11 years old, will learn about digital cameras, photo printing, and how to set-up a shot. Registeration is $125 for Canton Residents. Also, there is a $20 supply fee payable to instructor the first day of class at the Summit. To register, call 734/394-5460.
Pond-A-Palooza Preschool Summer Camp
Ponds are teeming with plant and animal life and your little ones, ages 3-5 years of age, can learn all about them. Explore this habitat with trips to the pond, crafts, games, songs and much more August 11-14 from 9 a.m. - noon. Residents can register for $60 by visiting leisure.canton-mi.org or by calling 734/394-5460.
Festival Fun at This Month's Village Faire:
Two days of fun are scheduled this month at the Village Faire Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 during this annual summertime event. Starting Saturday at Independence Park from 2pm - Dusk, area residents can enjoy a 1860's Vintage Baseball Game featuring the Northville Eclipse vs. Royal Oak Wahoos. The first pitch will be thrown out at 2 p.m. Following this exciting game, the Dodworth Saxhorn Quartet, will entertain audience members with their 19th century brass band sound. Don't miss a picnic dinner on the lawn and the classic movie "Charlotte's Web" on the big screen under the stars. Vintage Concessions, hayrides, and much more will also be available.
On Sunday at Bartlett-Travis House, located at 500 N. Ridge Road, exciting activities are planned from noon-5 p.m. including: Canton Lion's Club all-you-can-eat corn roast; docent-let tours of the historic Bartlett-Travis House; agricultural demonstrations with live oxen; farm animals at our petting zoo; Tillers International interactive displays; Sisters of the Union living history demonstrations; quilters, woodcarvers, and more! Musical entertainment will include performances by Fiddlers Restrung, the Heritage Minstrels, and the Kaiser Family Band.
