Chairs on the walls   OH MY

We've all seen trends come and go and of course in staging we want them to go.

  chair on the wall

This chair on the wall was in a home that we staged a couple of months ago.   Of course, we took if off thinking that it was a little too much for a home that was for sale.

This past week I was in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Maybe I was wrong and should have kept the chair on the wall.   The museum has good taste doesn't it?

What do you think?   New trend in staging

Virginia - I don't know...  It looks strange to me.  I'd say that we should keep the chairs on the floor...  :)

Whats funny is I have seen places that use chairs on the wall as art. I cant remember where it was now I am going to have to go do a search.

I have seen chairs displayed this way, especially at Ikea. We used this idea in a TV spot we did for Amish furniture at Art Van, and it looked great. But for staging, I'm with you--on the floor!

Hi Virginia,

I showed one house that had a chair on the wall.  My buyers were turned off.

Seriously, what were they thinking?  I think I would have missed the great view out of the patio doors and kept staring at the chair on the wall.

I do not think I am into chairs on the wall. Lets leave them on the floor where they belong :-)

Isn't that one of the points of staging.  Eliminate what would distract the buyers from seeing the house.

They will remember the chair and not the view out the doors.

They belong on the floor.

Virginia,

Chairs on the wall, interesting concept!  Do you suppose the homeowner used this area for a TIME OUT chair for the kids?  It certainly could keep them from getting into more mischief! (:  As far as staging is concerned, I think chairs are better left for positioning on the floor!
