Effect of Google on Your Business?!!

There's been alot of recent talk about Google changing their algorithms.  A few years ago, my site was ranked in the top 10 on the first page of every search having to do with South Florida real estate. The web was good to me! Then, literally overnight, Google changed their algorithm. I almost disappeared! The first 2 pages were links to websites that listed other websites (directories of sites).  I felt this was wrong, not only from my business standpoint, but also as a consumer. I would have to wade through a page or two of web site listings before I could get to sites that actually had the information that I wanted.

Now Google is changing yet again.  I'm hopeful that this change (disruption) doesn't seriously impact your business (as it did mine a few years ago).  I've said it many times before, this is just another reason why each type of advertising (word-of-mouth, magazine, internet, newspaper, mailing, etc) should only account for it's appropriate fraction of your business (kind of like a well balanced financial portfolio). This way if one part "goes bad", you can still rely on the rest!

did you keep up with your site. Mine has been steady for several years but I add things to it each week. I have 2 sites that I work on several times a week. This may have something to do with it. www.neworleanscondos.net .
